Esports World Cup 2026 Prediction: FURIA vs Legacy (23-08-2026)
FURIA and Legacy meet in the third-place match at the 2026 Esports World Cup on August 23, with both Brazilian teams looking to finish their run in Paris with a podium place.
Legacy have already eliminated two highly ranked opponents in the playoffs, so the gap between the teams is not as straightforward as the world rankings suggest.
FURIA have nevertheless produced the more consistent tournament overall and enter the best-of-three as deserved favourites.

FURIA reached the semi-finals without losing a series, beating 9z, Aurora and G2 2-1 after beginning the tournament with a 13-10 victory over Wildcard.
Their run ended against FUT, but there was little between the teams.
FURIA lost Ancient 13-11, responded with a convincing 13-6 win on Nuke and pushed the deciding Dust2 map into overtime before falling 16-13.
That performance matters when compared with Legacy’s semi-final. Spirit controlled their series from the start and eliminated Legacy in two maps, winning Dust2 13-7 and Ancient 13-9.
It was Legacy’s first defeat of the playoff stage after impressive 2-0 victories over Natus Vincere and Falcons.
Those wins make Legacy a genuine threat. NAVI were beaten 13-9 on Inferno and 13-2 on Ancient, while Falcons lost 13-7 on Mirage and 13-10 on Dust2.
Any argument for FURIA therefore has to account for a Legacy side that has already punished stronger favourites at this event.

The map pool still gives FURIA several useful routes through a best-of-three. Their clearest advantage is Nuke, where the current lineup has won 80% of its recent maps compared with Legacy’s 25%.
FURIA also showed how comfortable they remain there by beating FUT 13-6 in the semi-final.
Legacy are considerably stronger on Inferno and have an 80% recent win rate on Mirage, so a clean FURIA sweep carries unnecessary risk.
The veto may help FURIA manage that problem, however. Legacy have consistently removed Anubis during the playoffs, a map on which FURIA have struggled, leaving FURIA more freedom to target one of Legacy’s preferred options with their own ban.
There is also a wider difference in consistency. FURIA are ranked third in the world and have won four of their five matches in Paris, with their only defeat coming in an overtime decider against FUT.
Legacy’s ceiling has been impressive enough to beat NAVI and Falcons, but they have also suffered 0-2 defeats to FaZe and Spirit during the same tournament.
That makes the match-winner market more appealing than trying to predict the exact score.
Legacy have shown enough to take a map, particularly if Mirage or Inferno survives the veto, but FURIA have more reliable options across the full series.
