UEFA Champions League Prediction: AS Monaco – PSG (17-02-2026)
The only fixture of the first knock out stage will feature two French teams facing each other this Tuesday. The defending champion PSG are willing to repeat their success, but first they must get past Monaco.

Monaco Form
Until the very last minutes of the competitions league phase AS Monaco were uncertain about their destiny, but did qualify from the 21st place. After a poor first three rounds the French side beat Bodo/Glimt and Galatasaray 1:0.
Due to the terrible goal difference ratio they needed at least a point in the final match day and they were able to get in against Juventus at home with both sides finishing the match goalless. For AS Monaco it was only the 9th point of the campaign, but at the end it turned out that it was enough to go further.
Former champions are definitely underperforming in the Ligue 1 and now are only in 10th place. However, there is still plenty to fight for as the situation in the table is very tight and are only 3 points away from the top six, which guarantees European competitions for the next season.
PSG Form
In the first half of the league phase PSG looked like their old selves, but the last 3 rounds were a true headache. The defending Champions were unable to beat huge underdogs Athletic Bilbao and later fell against Sporting in Portugal.

The win in the final round would’ve guaranteed a top 8 finish, but L.Enrique’s men drew 1-1 at home versus Newcastle and now have to play an additional fixture to enter the quarter finals. In the mentioned last 3 fixtures they scored only two goals which should worry every fan.
At Least now PSG sit in the first place in the French league as surprisingly Lens dominated the league in the first half of the season. However, the lead is only two points so the squad depth and injury report will play a huge factor while competing in the both competitions.
What to Expect?
AS Monaco have the worst attacking rating from the teams that qualified further. They scored only 8 goals in 8 matches compared to PSG 21. Also, during the winter transfer window they have signed only one attacker who does not have any Champions League experience (S.Adingara), therefore, to see the French side scoring more than one goal against the champions is very unlikely.
Despite this being an away match, PSG are still favourites, and reliable bookmakers expect them to at least secure a draw, setting them up to finish the job later in the home fixture.
