CS2 IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 Preview

IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 will take place from June 11 to 15. Stage 3 will feature 16 teams in total, and all matches will be played in BO3 format. 8 teams already had a place in Stage 3, while another 8 qualified from Stage 2, which ended on June 9. The main favorites to reach the playoffs are Vitality, Natus Vincere, Spirit, Falcons and FURIA.

Here, we take a detailed look at Stage 3, provide the full schedule and share our betting predictions. 

In total, 16 teams will compete in IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3, with 8 already having a place: Vitality, Natus Vincere, Falcons, FURIA, Aurora, MOUZ, TheMongolz and PARIVISION. 

Another 8 teams qualified from Stage 2: Spirit, Legacy, G2, FUT, B8, BetBoom, 9z and Monte. 

Stage 3 differs from Stage 1 and Stage 2 because all matches here will be played in BO3 format, meaning there will be no BO1 matches left. This will be the first Counter-Strike 2 Major where the BO1 format is no longer used. This significantly reduces the chance of surprises and makes it easier to find valuable bets. 

8 teams will reach the IEM Cologne Major playoffs, which will start from the quarter-final stage. Two esports teams will qualify with a 3-0 record, while another six will qualify with 3-1 or 3-2 records. 

Stage 3 will use the classic Swiss format, where the next opponent will only become clear after all matches have been played. Teams can lose twice, but a third defeat means elimination from the tournament. 

Stage 3 will feature all the strongest Counter-Strike 2 teams. Vitality stands out the most here, along with Spirit, which qualified from Stage 2 without facing any real resistance. These teams can also be added:

• Falcons
• FURIA
• Natus Vincere

It would be a major surprise if even one of these teams failed to reach the playoffs. There is a strong chance that almost all teams that already had a place in Stage 3 will qualify for the playoffs.

From Stage 2, FUT, Legacy and BetBoom can be highlighted, as they showed solid results and can pose a serious challenge to teams such as MOUZ, Aurora, TheMongolz and PARIVISION. 

Stage 3 is the final stage before the playoffs, where eight teams will qualify. In this stage, all matches will be played as BO3, which means underdogs have far fewer chances to cause an upset. We have selected the teams and divided them into three categories: To Finish 3-0, To Finish 3-1 or 3-2 and To Finish 0-3. 

To Finish 3-0 is the bet where top bookmakers offer the highest odds. Unlike Stage 1 and Stage 2, this bet has much more value in Stage 3 because there are no BO1 matches left. Although one or two defeats do not eliminate teams from the tournament, the teams showing the best form are not thinking about losing. 

Vitality and Spirit stand out most in this category. Although Vitality did not win the last tournament, it had a lot of time to prepare for IEM Cologne Major, which is its main goal. It is still the best team at the moment. Vitality’s first opponent is FUT, and odds of just 1.18 are given for Vitality to win. 

Vitality will be considered the favorite against every opponent, and not without reason. The team that has dominated all season arrives at the Major with strong motivation to win another tournament and end the debate over who is the greatest Counter-Strike team of all time. 

Besides Vitality, Spirit also needs to be mentioned. Spirit arrived at IEM Cologne Major in excellent form. It lost to Vitality in the IEM Rio final, then won PGL Astana and claimed three comfortable victories in Stage 2. Spirit will play its first match against Natus Vincere, where it should face a serious challenge. Esports bookmakers give odds of 1.57 for Spirit. 

If Spirit does not meet Vitality before the playoffs, there is a strong chance that these two teams will finish Stage 3 with a 3-0 record. 

To Finish 3-1 or 3-2 is the bet where the most value can be found. FUT plays its first match against Vitality, so there is a high chance of a defeat, but after the match against the favorite, FUT should be followed as one of the teams that can reach the playoffs.

FUT looked very solid in Stage 2, won all three matches and reminded everyone why it is one of the most promising teams this season. Reaching the playoffs would be a fantastic result, but it certainly cannot be written off. Depending on which opponents it gets on its path, FUT has a strong chance of ending up with a 2-2 record, which would mean that qualification for the playoffs would be decided in the final match. 

Natus Vincere, Falcons and FURIA can be highlighted in this category. These are teams that would not surprise even with a 3-0 record. It seems that all of them enter IEM Cologne Major in solid form. FURIA showed its best game in the last esports tournament. Natus Vincere finally beat Vitality, while Falcons always plays like one of the best CS2 teams until the finals. 

Among the candidates to finish Stage 3 with a 3-1 or 3-2 record is Legacy, which has enough motivation to reach the playoffs. The team showed its potential in the CAC final, where it confidently beat Falcons. BetBoom can also surprise, as it has played IEM Cologne Major since Stage 1 and is showing excellent form. It will be interesting to see how its game looks against the best teams at the moment. 

There is a strong chance that MOUZ will have a 2-2 record, as it will play this tournament with the returning “Brollan“. Depending on which opponents it has to face, Aurora and 9z could also be close to the playoffs. 

In the To Finish 0-3 category, Monte stands out the most, along with B8, which had a difficult path through Stage 2. PARIVISION arrives at IEM Cologne in extremely poor form. It has produced many surprises this season, but in recent tournaments it has suffered defeats even against weaker opponents. 

The To Finish 0-3 bet has less value than 3-1 or 3-2, because one unexpected win is enough to lose the bet. Although there are fewer surprises when all matches are played as BO3, a lot depends on who meets in the 0-2 match. 

For those following the teams that have a strong chance of not winning a single match in Stage 3, Monte and B8 are worth monitoring. A 1-3 record for TheMongolz or PARIVISION would also not be a surprise.  

IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 3 starts on June 11 and will run for five straight days until June 15. In the first three days, as many as 8 BO3 matches will be played, Sunday will bring six matches, and on Monday the final three decisive matches for playoff qualification will be played.

Anyone following the Counter-Strike 2 IEM Cologne Major should pay attention to the fact that Stage 3 no longer has BO1 matches. When placing bets, keep in mind that the BO3 format will be used from the opening matches, which greatly reduces the chance of surprises. 

In general, these are the key things to remember about Stage 3, which can help find valuable bets:

• MOUZ played the last two tournaments with “jL“, who will not play at IEM Cologne Major. He is replaced by “Brollan“, who previously played for the team. The important thing is that the team’s IGL remains “xertioN“.
• PARIVISION arrives at the tournament in terrible form, so it is recommended to watch the team’s game in the first match and place bets from the second match. If the quality of play is the same as in recent tournaments, there is a strong chance that PARIVISION will finish Stage 3 with a 1-3 or 0-3 record.
• Although Vitality lost the last tournament against Natus Vincere, Vitality played IEM Atlanta without practice, in vacation mode. There was almost a month to prepare before IEM Cologne Major, so the best version of this team should be seen. It would not be surprising if Vitality won the whole tournament without suffering a single defeat.
• FUT, Legacy and BetBoom are teams that can challenge the main favorites and fight for a place in the playoffs. These teams should not be written off. They will usually be considered underdogs, so bets with high odds can be found.
