UEFA Champions League Prediction: Qarabag – Chelsea (05-11-2025)

Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League football will kick off with London Chelsea travelling 4000 kilometres to face Qarabag. Both teams collected 2 wins, so this will determine which club firmly stays in the promotion spot.

To everyone’s surprise, Qarabag club finds itself in the 13th position and has already collected 6 points in 3 fixtures. After 7 years of Champions League absence, the Azerbaijani side returned and made the headlines by beating Benfica in Portugal 2-3 while being huge underdogs. 

In the second round, Qarabag extended the winning streak to 2 games with a comfortable 2-0 win at home versus Copenhagen. Eventually, Athletic Bilbao woke them up from a dream by getting a 3-1 win.

Chelsea’s team continues to show unpredictable results, but should be more or less happy with the current situation in the Champions League. The Blues fell against Bayern 3-1 in the first round, but found success in the next 2 fixtures versus Benfica and Ajax. 

Benfica challenged them until the last seconds of the game, eventually failing 1-0 at the Bridge. Later, Chelsea defended their home fortress against Ajax, and thanks to an early red card shown to the Ajax midfielder, scored 5 goals and battered the opposition 5-1.

However, the task of completing a longer winning streak in the Premier League for them looks impossible. Surprisingly, Chelsea lost 1-2 at home to Sunderland and now are in only 9th position. 

The Blues will face Tottenham this Saturday, only 4 days before this fixture against Qarabag. E.Maresca needs to decide which game the Blues should prioritise more, but likely it’ll be the weekend’s fixture, since the board should not be too happy with the 9th position in the Prem.

The injury list still shows B.Badiashile, C.Palmer and L.Colwill missing future games due to an injury, while Jaoa Pedro received a red card against Ajax, which means that he is not available for this game too.

Despite everything, Chelsea remains fairly huge favourites to win this game. Although on Wednesday it is possible to see their bench players starting, Jamie Gittens and Estevao have recently been showing great form and scored in a Carabao Cup fixture versus Wolves while being starters.

Moreover, L. Delap returned after an injury, and the Englishman should finally create healthy competition for Joao Pedro, who went scoreless in the last 10 games.

With one of the best squad depths in the world, Chelsea should extend their winning streak to 3 games in a row — a scenario that many of the best bookmakers also reflect in their odds, though they expect a more brutal battle than in the previous match against Ajax.
