UEFA Champions League Prediction: Chelsea – Ajax (22-10-2025)

After tasting the first points, Chelsea will seek to not stop and continue their winning ways as they host Ajax. The Blues are in great form while playing at home, so the buzzing Stamford Bridge will expect another masterclass performance from their favorite team on October 22nd.

Match Prediction: Chelsea handicap -1.5 @ 1.70

On November 30th, the London team welcomed the club’s legendary coach J.Mourinho and his Portuguese side Benfica. In a wide-open match, both squads exchanged some great chances, but in the end, the game finished with a single goal, which was scored by R.Rios, who put the ball into his own net, and the Blues eventually won 1-0.

Before the match, Chelsea were on a bad run and in the first round of the UEFA Champions League lost to Bayern 1-3 in the Allianz Arena. Now the confidence is very high, since Chelsea recently beat English Premier League title holders Liverpool 2–1, which allowed them to climb the league ladder, and now they are in 7th place.

Overall, Chelsea has a great home record (3W-1D-1L) across all competitions with the only loss coming from Brighton after a Chelsea player was sent off the pitch while the team was leading 1-0.

Meanwhile, Ajax have scored 0 goals in the first two games in the Champions League (worst record, joint with Olympiacos) and conceded 6 goals. On the opening match day, they fell against Inter at home 0-2, which was not that surprising, but were later crushed against Marseille 4-0 in France. Now they are in the 35th place, only above Kairat Almaty.

In the Eredivisie, things could be better too as the team averages 2 points per game and currently are in the 3rd place, with the first team, Feyenoord, already having 6 6-point lead.

This match could be vital for coach J.Heitinga as there are some rumours surrounding his position in the future.

Last season’s Chelsea’s best player, C.Palmer, is still questionable for this game, while it is still clear that the second choice striker, R.Delap, will still be sidelined. Although Chelsea have not been bringing many goals so far in this season, we have to take into consideration the fact that they have collected two red cards in the fixtures against Manchester United and Brighton.

These 2 games were the only defeats that Chelsea suffered in the Prem, and even with this unwanted record, the Blues scored 13 goals in 7 matches in total in the top English flight.

Ajax are clear underdogs for a reason and have one of the worst defences in Europe, and currently let their opponents score 1.25 goals per game in the Dutch league and 3 goals per game in the Champions League, respectively.

Chelsea will still have some tough European fixtures in the future, with a home game against Barcelona and 2 away trips to Napoli and Bergamo; therefore, to win this game in a dominant fashion is their aim – a bet that many bettors will find attractive at top betting sites.
