UEFA Nations League Prediction: Spain vs Czech Republic (03-10-2026)

Spain host the Czech Republic in Oviedo on October 3 as the world champions look to maintain their perfect start in UEFA Nations League Group A3.

Luis de la Fuente’s side have already beaten England 3-2 and Croatia 4-1, extending their unbeaten run to 40 matches. Czechia, meanwhile, remain without a point after defeats to Croatia and England.

Spain have needed very little time to establish control in their opening UEFA Nations League matches, but their attacking depth has been just as important after the break.

Against Croatia, Spain led 2-1 at half-time before Lamine Yamal scored again in the 63rd minute and substitute Nico Williams added a fourth in the 89th.

That gave them exactly two second-half goals against a much stronger opponent than the one they face in Oviedo.

The Czech Republic’s latest match provides an obvious warning for their defence.

They held England scoreless during the opening half despite playing with ten men from the 23rd minute, but eventually conceded twice after the break.

Anthony Gordon opened the scoring two minutes into the second half before Harry Kane made it 2-0 in the 69th minute.

That red card clearly affected the game, so the result should not be treated as proof that Czechia will collapse again.

Their wider start to the group is still concerning, however, with three goals conceded and none scored across the opening two rounds.

Spain present a different level of attacking depth. Yamal has scored three times across the first two UEFA Nations League matches, while players such as Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal give De la Fuente several options to increase the tempo later in games.

Spain have already scored seven goals in the group despite facing England and Croatia.

Czechia may be able to stay compact early, but maintaining that structure for 90 minutes against the world champions is a much harder task.
