MotoGP Aragon 2026 Preview and Championship Prediction

MotoGP returns to Spain from August 28 to 30 for round 13 of the 2026 season at MotorLand Aragón. The championship remains wide open, with only 41 points separating the top five riders.

Jorge Martin leads with 240 points, followed by Marco Bezzecchi on 209, Ai Ogura on 203, Marc Marquez on 200 and Fabio Di Giannantonio on 199.

Ten rounds remain, leaving plenty of time for the title race to change.

Aragón-specific betting markets are still limited, but outright odds for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship are available.

Marquez is priced at 1.50, Martin at 3.50, Bezzecchi at 8.00, Ogura at 10.00 and Di Giannantonio at 50.00.

MotoGP markets and prices can vary between bookmakers, so comparing the available odds across the crypto betting sites can make a noticeable difference.

MotorLand Aragón is a 5.077-kilometre circuit with 17 corners and a total Grand Prix distance of 116.77 kilometres over 23 laps.

Ten of the corners are left-handers and seven are right-handers, while the longest straight measures 968 metres.

Saturday’s MotoGP Sprint will run for 11 laps before the 23-lap Grand Prix on Sunday.

The circuit combines elevation changes, fast direction changes and several heavy braking zones. Straight-line speed matters, but braking stability and traction out of slower corners are equally important.

Few riders have been as successful at MotorLand as Marc Marquez, who has already won seven MotoGP Grands Prix at the circuit.

Marquez has dominated his last two MotoGP visits to Aragón.

In 2024, he qualified on pole position before winning both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. Sunday’s victory ended a 1,043-day wait for a Grand Prix win and was his first Grand Prix victory with Gresini and Ducati.

He was even more dominant in 2025, topping every session across the weekend before winning both races. The Sunday victory was his seventh in the premier class at MotorLand.

That record makes Marquez one of the obvious favourites for the Aragón Grand Prix once a wider range of race-specific markets becomes available.

His championship position is less convincing. The defending world champion arrives fourth in the standings after one of his weaker weekends of the season at Silverstone, where he finished ninth in the Sprint and seventh in the Grand Prix.

MotorLand gives Marquez an excellent opportunity to recover ground, but an outright price of 1.50 already places a lot of faith in a strong finish to the season.

Martin arrives at MotorLand after strengthening his championship lead at Silverstone.

The Spaniard secured pole position, won the Sprint and finished second behind Raul Fernandez in the Grand Prix. Bezzecchi completed the podium on Sunday after also taking third place in the Sprint.

Silverstone was an exceptional weekend for Aprilia. Martin, Ogura and Bezzecchi filled the Sprint podium, while Fernandez led Martin and Bezzecchi home in the Grand Prix. Four different Aprilia riders therefore reached the top three across the weekend.

Martin now holds a 31-point championship lead heading into one of Marquez’s strongest circuits.

A victory in Aragón would strengthen his position considerably, but finishing close to his main rivals would also represent a useful result with nine rounds still to follow.

Third-placed Ai Ogura will not compete at MotorLand.

The Japanese rider injured his left hand while training in Japan. Further examinations revealed a fracture close to his left thumb that requires surgery, ruling him out of the Aragón weekend.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori will replace him at Trackhouse.

Missing an entire round is a major setback in such a close championship.

Ogura had kept himself firmly in the title race through the opening 12 rounds, but his absence makes the 10.00 available for the championship considerably less appealing.

Bezzecchi at 8.00 is the strongest alternative to Marquez and Martin in the outright market.

The Italian sits second in the championship and arrives in Aragón after finishing third in both races at Silverstone.

Those results moved him back into second overall and kept him within 31 points of Martin.

Bezzecchi remains a genuine contender, particularly if Aprilia can maintain the level shown in Britain.

However, he still needs to close the gap to Martin, while the championship leader is available at a much shorter but still attractive 3.50.

Di Giannantonio is a very different proposition at 50.00. His position in the standings keeps him mathematically close to the leaders, but recent Grand Prix results are a concern.

The VR46 rider has gone six consecutive Grands Prix without a podium, including a sixth-place finish at Silverstone.

A clear improvement will be required over the remaining rounds if he is to become a serious title threat.

Marquez is understandably the 1.50 favourite. He is the defending world champion, has an exceptional record at Aragón and still has ten rounds to recover the 40-point deficit to Martin.

The gap between the two prices is the main reason Martin stands out at 3.50.

Martin already leads the championship and does not need a long winning streak to stay there.

Consistently finishing near the front and avoiding costly weekends could be enough to keep his main rivals behind.

There is also evidence that he can handle the pressure of a close title fight.

Martin battled Francesco Bagnaia all the way to the final round in 2024 before securing his first MotoGP World Championship.

The current advantage is far from decisive.

A maximum of 37 points is available during a MotoGP weekend, so one crash, mechanical problem or poor round can quickly alter the standings.

Even with that risk, 3.50 for the championship leader offers a more attractive price than 1.50 for Marquez.

Martin has the points advantage, a competitive Aprilia and previous experience of converting a season-long championship battle into a world title.
