🤼♂️ Fight prediction: Tatsuro Taira win @ 1.52 |
The favourite on UFC betting sites is Tatsuro Taira of Japan, which is unsurprising as the 24-year-old has not suffered a single defeat in his professional career and has won all 16 fights so far.
The Japanese fighter made his UFC debut in 2022 and won all six of his fights, only two of which required a judge’s decision, defeating Edgar Chairez and Carlos Candelario. His last two fights have ended by technical knockout, and he has won two by choke, which shows his versatility.
His opponent is 32-year-old American Brandon Royval. He has competed in 23 professional fights, winning 16 and losing 7. He made his UFC debut in 2020 with three losses and six wins.
Only three of his UFC fights required referee intervention; however, two of them were the last fights in which the fight went the full five rounds. By the judges ‘ decision, he lost against Alexandre Pantoja, and he won against Brandon Moreno.
Is Brandon Royval the fighter who can break the Japanese fighter’s impressive streak? Royval’s biggest advantage is endurance. Even though he is 8 years older, stamina and a long fight can be the key to victory.
Tatsuro Taira has a big advantage in the first rounds, and it would not be surprising if the fight were to end there. The Japanese have great ground skills, and his opponent’s fights are chaotic—it seems to be a bit of everything.
The big question is how Royval will defend himself against a motivated, young Japanese opponent. We’re picking Tatsuro Taira to win, hopefully ahead of schedule, and extend his winning streak to 17.
