Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)
Where better to start than Real Madrid’s new star forward? After his contract with French giants PSG expired, the Frenchman signed for Los Blancos this summer as a free agent.
Mbappe enjoyed a rather underwhelming EURO 2024 with his national team. However, the explosive forward has been highly prolific for PSG in recent campaigns, including scoring 44 goals and producing seven assists last season.
With Real Madrid looking to dominate for years to come, Mbappe, alongside the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham in the team, could well keep the balance of power in La Liga with the capital club.
Lamine Yamal (Barcelona)
The youngster is one of the best young players in the world. Last season saw Yamal enjoy a breakout campaign, featuring more regularly in the Barcelona first team.
After also being one of the stars of EURO 2024, and helping Spain become European champions, the 17-year-old is likely to have a much bigger part to play for the Catalan giants in season 2023/24.
If Blaugrana is to truly challenge old nemesis Real Madrid, Yamal’s performances may well be the key to that challenge.
Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)
In the last few seasons, the Brazilian winger has established himself as a key player for Los Blancos. For many, he is amongst the next generation of superstars alongside Mbappe.
Often playing as a more central forward last season, Vini Jr scored 24 goals and produced nine assists to help Los Blancos secure the La Liga and Champions League double last season.
Despite Brazil’s exit from the Copa America 2024 in the quarter-final stages against Uruguay, Vinicius Junior came out of the tournament with some credit, having scored two goals in three appearances at the Copa.
When it comes to club football, the forward will once again be a key player in season 2024/25 if Real Madrid are to build on what was an incredible 2023/24 season for the team from the Spanish capital.
Nico Williams (Athletic Club)
Yamal’s friend and international teammate followed up an excellent season with Athletic Club last season, where he produced 11 assists and scored five goals by helping his country win EURO 2024.
At 22 years of age, Williams is fast improving his overall game. His performances have reportedly attracted interest from elsewhere, most noticeably Barcelona. If he teams up with Yamal at club and international levels, they could do some serious damage to La Liga defences next season.
Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
The England international enjoyed a sensational debut campaign with Real Madrid in season 2023/24, scoring 23 goals and producing 11 assists in all competitions.
His goals and influence helped Los Blancos win the double of La Liga and Champions League. The 21-year-old’s performances in the Spanish capital also put him among the frontrunners for the Ballon d’Or.
Not only did he help Los Blancos thrive, but he also helped guide England to the EURO 2024 final, where they, of course, lost 2-1 to Spain.
If Bellingham’s maiden campaign in white is anything to go by, then we are in for a big treat in season 2024/25, as he is likely to be once again a central player in Real Madrid’s push for supremacy in the Spanish top-flight.
Bryan Gil (Girona)
Gil has been touted as a potential star for a long time now since his emergence at Sevilla as a raw youngster. However, despite periods at the likes of Tottenham and Valencia and a second spell at Sevilla, he hasn’t yet managed to find a place to thrive.
After a somewhat nomadic recent career, a summer loan move to Girona could be just what he needs. The Catalan club have become adept at helping players develop and fulfil their promise.
Gil is still only 23, and there is time for him to start enjoying his football and fulfil what looked like immense early potential.
Endrick (Real Madrid)
The Brazilian forward has finally moved to Real Madrid from Palmeiras, and despite his tender years, big things are expected from the starlet in the coming season.
The prodigy had his first taste of senior international tournament football this summer for Brazil, playing in four Copa America games, but his appearances totalled just 124 minutes.
The 18-year-old is regarded as the next big player to come off the seemingly endless conveyor belt of exciting young players from Brazil.
At Palmeiras, he scored 21 goals in 98 appearances in all competitions, which was a big achievement for such a young player. However, playing for a behemoth of a club like Real Madrid really is a big step up for a young player arriving from a new country.
Considering the array of talent available to boss Carlo Ancelotti, he may not be an immediate starter for Los Blancos. However, by the end of the season, it wouldn’t be surprising if Endrick had had a significant impact on Real Madrid’s season.
Alexander Sorloth (Villarreal)
The giant Norwegian forward was the second most prolific goalscorer in La Liga last season with Villarreal, scoring 23 goals in the Spanish top-flight after a £10m move from RB Leipzig.
Sorloth had previously featured in La Liga at Real Sociedad during a two-year loan spell with the Txuri-urdin. He wasn’t prolific in San Sebastian but certainly was for the Yellow Submarine.
Villarreal narrowly missed out on European football last season. However, with a better start and Sorloth in attack, Marcelino’s team will be looking to mount a far better challenge for continental football in season 2024/5.
Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad)
The exciting Japanese international enjoyed a strong campaign with Real Sociedad, scoring seven goals and producing four assists. The campaign was just a continuation of his excellent form while on loan at Real Mallorca the previous season.
Unfortunately, Kubo missed some La Liga games last season due to international duty. The winger will look to improve upon his promising campaign in 2023/24 as La Real makes a serious bid for a Champions League spot in the new campaign.
