Men’s Olympics Tennis Favorites to Win
It’s been a riveting year of men’s tennis so far, with Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner asserting themselves as the best players in 2024. They’ll have plenty of competition in Paris, however.

- Jannik Sinner (Italy)
- Novak Djokovic (Serbia)
- Carlos Alcaraz (Spain)

- Alex de Minaur (Australia)
- Hubert Hurkacz (Poland)
- Casper Ruud (Norway)

But do the bookmakers agree with the tournament’s seeding? Yes and no–here are the top favorites in the Olympics tennis odds:
- Carlos Alcaraz @ 2.75
- Jannik Sinner @ 3.75
- Novak Djokovic @ 3.75
- Alexander Zverev @ 6.50
- Rafael Nadal @ 8.00

- Holger Rune @ 17.00
- Stefanos Tsitsipas @ 21.00
Our Predictions for the Men’s Tennis Olympics
Based on the seeding, tennis bookies’ odds, plus each player’s form, track record and advantages on clay, we’ve come up with two predictions for the men’s tennis Olympics this month.
- Novak Djokovic will win gold
Admittedly, 2024 has not been Djokovic’s year. The Serbian is used to winning the majority of tournaments he plays in, and regularly collecting Grand Slam titles. This year, he’s done neither, going titleless so far for the first time in a season since 2005.
However, we say that all changes in Paris this year. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has been steadily building in 2024, making the Wimbledon final most recently. At the start of the year, Djokovic made it crystal clear that the focus of his season would be winning Olympic gold.
At this stage of the 37-year-old’s career, his biggest issue isn’t form; it’s motivation.
With Olympic gold being virtually the only achievement he hasn’t ticked off in his career, you wouldn’t want to bet against someone with the resolve and discipline of Djokovic achieving his goal. Particularly since this will be his last opportunity to do so.
- Arthur Fils will make a deep run
The 20-year-old Arthur Fils is paying a long 51.00 to win gold in Paris–and we say betting on him could be a genius dark horse punt.
Here’s our reasoning. First, Fils is playing the best tennis of his life. He just won the second title of his career, lifting the ATP 500 crown in Hamburg. To do so, he defeated the fourth best player in the world (and recent Roland-Garros finalist) Alexander Zverev, in front of a home crowd.
As a freshly minted member of the world’s top 20, and playing in front of a French crowd, on his favorite surface of clay, Fils is a great bet. He has nerves of steel for a young man, and raw power that can blow anyone off the court when he’s locked in.
Women’s Olympics Tennis Favorites to Win
Women’s tennis is also in a great place this year. Swiatek has been dominant, particularly on clay, but there are plenty of viable candidates to take her down at the Olympics.
Seeds
Before diving into our women’s Olympics tennis predictions, here’s a look at the top eight seeds in the singles event:
- Iga Swiatek (Poland)
- Coco Gauff (United States)
- Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan)
- Jessica Paolini (Italy)
- Jessica Pegula (United States)
- Qinwen Zheng (China)
- Maria Sakkari (Greece)
- Danielle Collins (United States)
Odds
Bookmakers largely agree with the tournament’s seeding at the top of the food chain, but have some differences further down. Here are the latest women’s singles odds for the Olympics tennis:
- Iga Swiatek @ 1.50
- Coco Gauff @ 6.50
- Elena Rybakina @ 11.00
- Marketa Vondrousova @ 15.00
- Naomi Osaka @ 17.00
- Mirra Andreeva @ 17.00
- Jasmine Paolini @ 21.00
- Danielle Collins @ 21.00
Our Predictions for the Women’s Tennis Olympics
So, who will leave Paris with a medal, and who will have to wait four more years? Here are our predictions and betting recommendations based on what we’ve seen on the WTA Tour in 2024, and the latest tennis odds:
- Iga Swiatek will win gold
Is it a boring prediction? Yes. Is it highly likely to come to fruition? Also yes.
Poland’s Swiatek has been virtually unstoppable on clay this year. This year’s Olympics is held at Roland-Garros, where the 23-year-old has won four of the past five titles, including three in a row. Swiatek is on a 21-match winning streak in Paris, and it’s hard to see that stopping any time soon.
The Pole is also on a hot 19-match winning streak on clay in general, having won the WTA 1000s in Madrid and Rome before claiming the French Open this year. She’s defeated all of her top rivals on the surface, and in emphatic fashion as well.
The only argument against Swiatek winning in Paris is that she’s recently been playing on grass, where she suffered an early exit at Wimbledon. However, the reality is that she never prioritized this tournament, and will be turning up to the Olympics laser focused on leaving with a gold medal.
- United States will win a medal
Speaking of medals, we say that the United States will claim one in the women’s singles. For the first time in two decades, four American women are ranked within the world’s top 15. Three of these are seeded in the top eight at the Olympics, while two make the cut in the bookies’ top eight as well.
Between Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Danielle Collins and Emma Navarro, we expect one of these women to podium in Paris. The best bet is naturally world No 2 Gauff, who has a 72.3 percent win rate on clay and has previously made the final of the French Open.
Navarro and Collins are also great options, given the recent form of the former and the latter’s ability to run hot. It’s hard to pick exactly who will put together a run, but we’d be surprised if early August rolled around and an American woman wasn’t wearing a medal around her neck.
Both the men’s and women’s singles will begin this weekend on July 27, so get your bets in quick if you fancy one of our predictions for the Olympics tennis.
