After the group stage of the EURO 2024, France and England, the favourites, face a lot of criticism. Belgium started the tournament somewhat unexpectedly, with a 0-1 defeat against Slovakia. We saw Belgium’s potential in the group stage, and it’s fair to say that the team hasn’t played its best game yet. However, it’s unfortunate that we have to play against France in the eighth final.
Before the tournament started, France was predicted to be in the final or at least in the Top 4. This is not surprising, given that the team made it all the way to the final at the World Cup two years ago, only to lose to Argentina after a series of penalties.

Nothing much was expected from this Belgium team – they are talented but not the “golden generation”.
However, there is no need to underestimate it completely. With Kevin De Bruyne in the team and Romelu Lukaku in the attack, Belgium can beat any team on a good day.
It is clear that France will be seen as the favourites in this quarter-final match, and they will be the ones who feel the pressure.
