Austria was the team that positively surprised everyone in the EURO 2024 group stage. In a group with France, the Netherlands, and Poland, Austria finished first, beating the Netherlands 3-2 in the deciding game. Turkey, meanwhile, although second in the group, could have looked more convincing. They won the first group game against Georgia, one of the weakest teams in the group. Then, they were crushed by Portugal 0:3 and won the deciding match against the Czech Republic.
However, the Czech Republic received a red card in the first half, and Turkey only managed to score the winning goal in added time when the Czechs were looking for the winning goal in every possible way.

While the Turkish national team has scored many goals in its group matches, the playoffs are a very different football game. Here, the cost of a mistake is much higher, and there is no doubt that both teams will play a reserve game.
The Turks depend greatly on their young talents – Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz. Both players are only 19 years old and have not played in a match of this importance. The lack of experience will undoubtedly be felt here, so the quality of play should be slightly lower than in the group stage.
